The old PlayStation 5 will be retired next year. It will be replaced by a new model with a removable optical drive.

The old PlayStation 5 will be retired coming time. It'll be replaced by a new model with a removable optic drive.

According to IT Home, citing Insider Gaming’s own interposers, the new PlayStation 5 game press with a removable optic drive will go into product in April 2023 and go on trade in September 2023.

Sony is reportedly planning to vend 18 million PlayStation 5 consoles in financial time 2022 and 30.5 million in financial time 2023, including 12 million of the original PS5. Insider Gaming also writes that Sony will fully stop releasing the old PlayStation 5 by Christmas 2023.

Previously reportedthat the biggest change to the new PlayStation 5 is that it'll feature a removable optic drive that will connect to the PlayStation 5 via the USB- C connector on the reverse of the press.

The new PlayStation 5 press will be available for purchase with a removable optic drive, or you can buy it latterly if necessary. This will also save you from buying a new press if only the optic drive fails in the future.

As for the price, the source says the optic drive will be offered independently for$ 100. The same will be the difference between accoutrements from a press with a drive and only the press itself.
